Lea’s Story
Lea moved from Washington to Utah at the age of five, where her backyard bordered a vast apple orchard. She spent her childhood among horses, often catching snakes in the tall grass. Inspired by her hero, Steve Irwin, she quickly became the neighborhood “snake wrangler.” By the age of seven, neighbors were already calling on her to safely relocate snakes from their yards.
As a teenager, Lea found purpose in service, volunteering as a caretaker for children with special needs and walking dogs at local shelters. In 2019, she began her professional career in animal care as a kennel technician at a board-and-train facility. There, she transitioned into dog training, specializing in canine psychology and building stronger communication between pets and their owners.
Her journey soon led her back to horses through equine therapy, where she was reminded of the profound effect animals have on human energy and healing. This exploration opened the door to sound therapy and biofield tuning, deepening her awareness of how sound influences wellbeing. By 2021, she launched Creature Connection, offering sound healing and biofield tuning therapy for both dogs and horses.
Lea’s curiosity and drive for deeper understanding continued to grow. She immersed herself in wildlife studies—attending classes, volunteering at rehabilitation centers, and gaining firsthand experience in field research. This path eventually brought her back to reptiles, reconnecting with her childhood hero, Steve Irwin.
She soon landed a role traveling to schools, where she cared for and taught about large snakes, crocodilians, rattlesnakes, and other reptiles. Through this work, Lea not only expanded her knowledge and handling skills but also discovered her own teaching style and refined her mission for Creature Connection. Educating children became a natural extension of that mission—helping to inspire conservation in future generations and fostering respect for all forms of life. Along the way, she built connections in outdoor education and developed a special focus on child psychology, learning, and development.
Today, Lea brings together years of hands-on experience, professional training, and field research in her educational outreach. She believes that wildlife and environmental education are vital to restoring our relationship with the land and to remembering our shared sovereignty with nature. Her goal is to nurture curiosity, preserve the “wild spark” in future generations, and strengthen the bond between people, animals, and the environments we all call home.
